In January 2024, the Secure Communicating Solutions (SCS) and Optitec clusters merged, giving rise to a competitiveness cluster covering the Sud and Occitanie regions. This alliance has made it possible to combine SCS's expertise in microelectronics, artificial intelligence, digital security and connected objects with Optitec's expertise in optics and photonics, thus strengthening their position as a leading Deeptech centre in the south of France with a national and European reach.
The SCS Cluster, which initiated this merger, had more than 300 members, including large industrial groups, SMEs, start-ups, research centres and academic institutions. Notable members include companies such as STMicroelectronics, Thales, Amadeus, and research institutes such as INRIA and CEA. For its part, the Optitec cluster brought together all the big names in photonics and optics in the south-west of France.
We had already created the graphic identity of the SCS Cluster in 2017. This merger of the SCS and Optitech clusters required in-depth reflection on the positioning and identity of the new entity, a mission entrusted to BrandSilver.
