PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
I love the democracy of it. Allowing thousands of jurors from all over the world and different neighboring industries to have a say allows to see the whole spectrum of what advertising and communication is about in 2024.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
This helps to pour a light on the grey areas that might be left unnoticed in the shadow by a traditional advertising festival jury.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
Perhaps it's a good thing, don't have an opinion yet.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
Since the main difference is a democratic approach to the work judged, the winner or winners represent truly objective view of what the best of advertising today is about.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
I don't want to use AI word, really, but it's hot regardless. Other than that, marketers moving away from a purpose driven projects to me is a sign of sanity and I really welcome it back.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
Andy Pearson of Liquid Death. He is CMO but he's a creative visionary alright.
I would also single out creatives behind Fiat 'No More Grey' at Leo Burnett Milan, Vanish 'Me, My Autism & I' at Havas London, Em Cooper and her fantastic work on The Beatles' 'I'm Only Sleeping' video.
