INNOVATION WAS KEY IN THIS CATEGORY AS CREATIVES DELIVERED FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
Perhaps more than any other category in the report, this one illustrates the evolution of advertising. In the top five there’s only one film – albeit a very beautiful one, “Find Your Summer”, which successfully makes us yearn for ice cream in winter. The other award-winners are triumphs of imagination, tech, or a combination of the two. Coors played a perfect “real-time advertising” card; but Michelob brought basketball alive for a blind commentator, using haptics – and Heineken turned endangered pubs into museums, partly using AR. So while TV advertising may be a little scarce, thank goodness we can still enjoy a pint.
