PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?

By setting the intial entry fee to free, PHNX tears down the barrier to entry for the next gen of creatives. That's huge to me, in terms of offering a chance to show the work of underrepresented voices. And selfishly, I love to see new work, it's inspiring.

What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?

The hybrid jury allows views of the same work to be seen through another prism. Love it.

What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?

It's one of the main reasons I signed on. Sure, it's more work to sift through, but awards can be a costly to enter.

How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?

A creative that combines a strong point of view with a level of craft that stands out.

What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?

Not ai, not yet. The bigger impact I see it the influence of creator content shot on phones using the immersive camera. It's informing the way ads are shot. Swooping cameras, tilting camera, first-person for no reason.

Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?

Pass. Not there yet.
