Following this line of thoughts, I think: Augusto worked as jeweler, knows about stones, metals and how to draw out maximum benefit when polished. He was a painter in his youth. Not as a visual artist, but of buildings. Not any building, high class old buildings where old ladies holding a dog catalogue pointed out the difference between a well- finishing and its famous ¨dripping¨.
Who knows if his personal experiences have an actual influence on the way he approches the projects, but the truth is for Augusto it has worked out. A silver and two gold in the latest editions of Cannes Lion Festival, three gold in the Clio awards, Grand Prix winner in the Circulo de Creativos and a Lapiz de Platino among others.
We´ll remain with the doubt of whether life is mixed with talent, but if every blow in his life resulted in pleasing artistic consequences, he has just torn his ligaments in an open track while skiing with his daughter, lets see how this setback reverberates on projects to come.
