About me

I’ve been an advertising creative for over twenty years. A journey that has taken me from junior Art Director with US agency Chiat/Day to Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi London.

I now freelance as part of a creative team, rupertandphil.com, which has given me the opportunity to work with a fantastic variety of people, agencies, media channels and projects - f
rom global pitches to social posts.

Combining this with my background in big ideas I believe equips me for any creative challenge.

We had just three jobs in 2021 - but they were all good long stints. We helped Havas with the global pitch for Honor phones (they won), we spent a few months at Wunderman Thompson helping them sort out Shell’s comms for the next few years (quite a challenge), and we finished the year at Pablo writing and making six 90s TVCs for a joint NatWest and ITV project with Alison Hammond (she’s just like she is on the telly). Oh, and Cadbury ran our Secret Santa campaign again (its fourth Christmas - they’re definitely getting their money’s worth).
