James Wright is a Board Director at Grayling, contributing an impressive array of skills and experience. With a broad ranging experience James has a particular specialism in CSR and sustainability from corporate, governmental and NGO perspectives, he works on some of Europe’s most influential and challenging campaigns.

James is also a consumer expert devising impactful launch stunts that generate powerful imagery and media coverage, including turning BT Tower red for Comic Relief, which appeared live on the Six O'Clock News, recreating iconic landmarks from Coke cans for Coca-Cola in 4 UK cities, launching the world’s largest electric car trial in 5 UK locations for the Technology Strategy Board, the UK government’s innovation agency, and recently launching Sony’s Open Planet Ideas crowd sourcing platform.

Crisis and issues management experience includes work for Jaguar Land Rover, Indesit Company, Coca-Cola, Parkinsons UK and John West. James and his team have won numerous international and national PR awards for their campaigns – 22 in the past five years.

In 2007 James conceived the CIPR’s Environmental Sustainability Guidelines and chaired a select steering committee that developed them. This guide for PR practitioners was launched in March 2008 and is believed to be the first of its kind in the world, they are devised to help those undertaking green communication.

James advised boxing sensation Amir Khan and now world champion following his success in Athens 2004, including chairing his first ever UK press conference in front of the world’s media. He was named PRCA’s Consultant of the Year 2008 and the same year was named International CSR Leader at the PR News (USA) annual All Stars Award ceremony at the Washington DC press club.
