Dré often says "the future belongs to those who imagine it". He believes in exploring possible futures to better inform today's decisions. He uses science and storytelling to conjure possibilities that fuel innovation.
Dré's hands-on approach to tinkering with technology is just a means to express his ideas. He prototypes functional concepts within fictional worlds that lead to valuable provocations. He designs from the future—not for the future.
Most recently, Dré spent 7 years building and growing Rethink in Toronto. As partner and creative director he designed and directed some of the agency's greatest hits. His contributions to Molson’s smart beer fridges generated millions of impressions. His work on Uber’s ride-hailing breathalyzer garnered international attention.
Dré has appeared at the top of Strategy Magazine’s Creative Directors list several years in a row. He's won and judged almost every international award show (Cannes, London International, One Show, Webbys, Atomic, Marketing and more). He is longstanding member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) and sat on the board of directors for the Advertising and Design Club of Canada (ADCC).
Dré has been on the internet since before the web. He studied both analogue and digital media production as the world transitioned from old to new technology with the emergence of the web. He is trained in Human Centred Design. He’s dabbled in various aspects of computer science. Dré is never not learning something.
When Dré isn't living in the future, he’s happily here-and-now writing, recording and performing with his bandmates in The Darned.
