Melanie Myers

Global Director of Creative Talent at Wieden + Kennedy, Portland
Portland, United States

About me

As W+K’s Global Head of Talent, Melanie partners with the agency’s global leadership, in addition to leaders in all eight of W+K’s offices, recruiting, hiring and developing talent for the network.

Melanie spent eleven years with W+K’s Portland office in a creative management role before leaving in 2007 to found her own successful consulting company. Three years later, she came home to W+K in the newly formed role of global director of creative talent. Since her return, she has played an important role in the future of the agency, casting new talent in key creative leadership positions, launching the São Paulo office, and building a connected global recruitment team.

W+K has been a fiercely independent and creatively-led company for 35 years. Today, creative thinking is relevant to more disciplines than ever, requiring a shift in recruiting and staffing strategies.

Melanie is leading that charge at W+K, across all disciplines, throughout all eight W+K offices. Additionally, she collaborates with the global director of human resources and office leadership to maintain W+K as a place people can thrive and evolve, where people with incredibly diverse backgrounds and skill sets come to make the best work of their lives.

Having spent two decades working alongside great talent, both inside and outside the company, Melanie knows the W+K of the past and present, and has a strong vision towards the future. She has a deep understanding of each unique W+K market, knows our strengths and weaknesses, and leans strongly towards innovation. Melanie is devoted to our global diversity efforts and the pursuit of making great work. She has made talent recruiting, development and management one of the strongest and most important disciplines at W+K.
