Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
I strongly believe in continuous learning and being a judge at a festival that has become so important and that increasingly reveals better and more innovative works, allows us to renew ourselves, reevaluate new ways of thinking and learn from them to remain current, because it is not the journey we take in the profession, but what we are updated in it. On the other hand, there is the possibility of setting the bar ever higher, demanding deeper creative thinking from new generations.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
It seems quite useful to me, since creativity must have strong strategic foundations, knowledge of the market, people, etc., and having a multidisciplinary jury enriches the voting.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
I think that the spectrum is opened too much to the application of many pieces that are registered to try their luck or that do not have the creative quality that a festival deserves, the one that is charged from the beginning is a good filter.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
An idea that is capable of impacting a client's business, of permeating the culture of a society and especially, an idea that makes me say: "Why didn't that occur to me?"
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
I think that everything digital and what has to do with new technologies such as AI, of course, as long as they have a great idea behind them, otherwise it is a simple fad.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
I don't know yet... There are many excellent creatives in the world, even those that no one knows because they do not want to appear. For me, the best creatives are not just those who win at international festivals, they are those capable of keeping a difficult client, those who grow their clients' business, those who know how to manage the day to day.
